Introducing: Mórbhileog – Our new Poetry Broadsheet

We are delighted to share the excitement and creative spirit of an exceptional evening that took place on October 21, 2023, at the All Saints Heritage Centre in Clonbur, Co Galway. This event marked the culmination of the 2023 Comórtas Dánta Gaeilge competition, with a spotlight on the winners and their remarkable works. But it wasn’t just the celebration of poetry that graced the night; it was also the unveiling of something truly special – our inaugural poetry broadsheet, Mórbhileog.

The heart of the evening revolved around the three talented poets who stood at the center stage: Liam Boyle, Laoighseach Ní Choistealbha, and Mary O’Flatharta. Their poignant words and expressive verses filled the heritage center with emotion, painting vivid pictures of Ireland’s natural beauty and rich culture. Judge Caitríona Lane, a respected Irish language poet, added her own poetic voice to the night, making it an unforgettable celebration of the written word.

But the star of the evening was Mórbhileog, our very own poetry broadsheet. This remarkable publication serves as a testament to the literary talent and community spirit that thrives within our organization. Within its pages, you’ll discover an array of English and Irish language poetry contributed by our community members, each poem a reflection of the essence of Ireland.
